![]() ![]() ![]() The vehicle was out of service at this point. Later in the day, I backed out of my parking spot and heard a very severe pop and the tire made a whooshing noise as it was making contact with the tire well. When I pulled into my parking spot at work I got out and looked at the rear right tire and it was slanted only slightly. On 2/27/13, I took a few CO-workers to lunch and they noticed a loud pop every time I turned a corner or hit any uneven spot in the road. They "inspected" and put a sticker on, and a worthless clamp (might as well been a paperclip) on the the tie rod. I actually visited a Toyota dealer because there was a lower suspension arm recall on my vehicle. Over the course of the past 2 months I have heard a quiet popping noise coming from the back right tire area when I make turns. No front tires had been worn unevenly with this incident. It should be known that tires worn uneven were on & from rear of vehicle. Our concerns are that we are being told there is no warranty or recall to correct or protect anyone owning and driving without knowledge of this problem. The tires have been worn unevenly due to rear suspension being loose causing this failure. At this same time vehicle rear differential also began to give off a "whine" sound. This is a major safety problem as it caused vehicle to loose complete control. At this time we are being told that it is not covered under any vehicle warranty or recall. This we believe is due to rear suspension parts being faulty. Closer inspection found rear suspension, tie rod loose. Upon inspection was found seals on rear differential leaking. Replaced tire and after a short time was found not to be the problem. Upon inspection was found to be tire which was uneven in wear. While driving vehicle began to shake or "wobble". The real issue is why did Toyota not tell us about the recall while we were in the shop and do something to insure our safety? we could have died. The front tires are in perfect shape and past experience with this brand did not indicate any problems. ![]() We could have died in an accident due to the tires. They are keeping the information from the public. I checked for other people having this issue and found that Toyota had known about the problem and we're forced into a recall by the u s government. They said it was a rear suspension issue. A mechanic suggested they saw the same problem with the same model the week prior. We carefully drove a few miles to our tire store because of the service and warranty. The shop call to say our tires had worn on the inner edge to such a dangerous degree that they would not advise travel. We requested a look at brakes because of the rear end noise and vibration on braking. The 2011 Toyota rav 4 was in a Toyota repair shop for an oil change.
